Painting Description

Vinicunca, or Winikunka, also called Montaña Arcoíris (Rainbow Mountain), is a mountain in the Andes of Peru above sea level. A place where Alice has never been to, and somewhere hopefully one day she can visit.

Painted from references on the internet, Alice aimed to paint it realistically, as the real colours of this place are so vibrant that it almost looks unreal.

This work is the most popular print from Alice’s online shop. ‘The world is a beautiful place.’ is a message Alice wants you to feel when looking at it.

Rainbow Mountain is part of Alice Kwan’s Wanderlust series.

Wanderlust is inspired by places Alice has been to and places which she wants to visit one day.

It’s a combination of a bucket list and a public record of where she’s been. Painting them and hoping to evoke viewers motivation to explore the world we live in.
